Learning for Life Programme (LLP)
Learning for Life Programme (LLP)
Overview
The Northshore Primary Learning for Life Programme (LLP) is titled OCE@N (Outdoor Education and Caring for our Environment @ Northshore). We envisioned to nurture in the students the courage to explore the environment around us with a passion to learn through play, and a willing heart to serve the community. It will create various platforms for the students to learn about the environment through Outdoor Education. Every student and teacher will be engaged in projects that will extend their learning to the community to be stewards of environment. We aim to develop students’ critical thinking skills and to build character through experiential learning and exploring sustainability issues. Students will also be taught Outdoor Education knowledge and skills through authentic learning experiences.
The 3 “I” Tiered Approach

LLP Focus
- Outdoor Education
Educators purposefully engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, clarify values, and develop people’s capacity to contribute to their communities - Sustainability Education
Allowing learners opportunities to explore sustainability issues, engage in problem solving, and work towards making positive change for the environment.
Key Programmes

Recycle Right Campaign
The school’s environmental efforts are brought to life through our Eco-Explorers, a dedicated group of classroom leaders who support the Recycle Right Campaign in their daily routines. They monitor recycling practices, empty class recycling bags into the Bloobin, and guide their peers to recycle correctly. Through these actions, they promote proper recycling habits and model environmental responsibility for the school community.

Commemorative Events (World Water Day and Earth Day)
Students learn positive environmental habits through play during assembly programmes, cultivating self-discipline and adaptability in their actions. As they engage with others in various level activities, they demonstrate empathy and respect for the environment, while building the tenacity to adopt and sustain responsible habits.
Outdoor Education Day Camps (Primary 3 and Primary 4)
Middle Primary students explore their surroundings with curiosity and respect, developing self-discipline and adaptability through supervised, hands-on experiences. As they learn essential life skills such as outdoor cooking and first aid, they practise empathy, support one another, and build tenacity in overcoming new challenges.
Outdoor Education Camp (Primary 5)
Through a range of outdoor activities and team challenges, our Primary 5 students will have the opportunity to demonstrate self-discipline and adaptability while supporting one another with empathy and respect. By working through obstacles together with determination and tenacity, they will strengthen their bonds with peers and teachers, building a unified and resilient team prepared to face future challenges.
